Original Zelda July 28, 2010 Preston L. Marshall This game was amazing. It was incredibly hard and pretty much required a walkthrough if you really want to be able to finish it without spending hundreds of hours poking around the world and drawing up your own maps, but with a guide telling you were to go this game is great fun.
Almost all the encounters were challenging enough to keep you on your toes through the entire game. Even if you gather all the power ups possible you will still be challenged by the last boss and pretty much everything else along the way.
First Zelda game I played July 7, 2010 Jeremy Richmond (Lakewood, CA USA) The Legend of Zelda is the first Zelda game I played. I didn't think it was fantastic but it led to other Zelda games and was the start of my favorite fantasy adventure series. The music is great. It is very haunting and fairy tale like. You go from dungeon to dungeon fighting enemy boss after enemy boss. I never passed this game. Maybe some day I'll go back to the game and get to the end finally.
Oh wow I got the gold cartrdige May 20, 2010 Classic gamer! (In NES land) Now this is kind of weird I picked up an NES recently and it came with Zelda two so I figured I would get the first. Bought it from the pawn shop for [...] the gold copy for those of you who don't know the gold copies are the original. The grey copies are the re-released version of the game. The grey is actually less common than the gold, I was joking before(wow I got gold cartridge "actually less rare") , but anyway put that game in figured I would play again never beat a Zelda game. Some of my friends never stop talking about Zelda games so had to see what I was missing. Played thru the first duegon just as I remembered it bland, but starting on the second I started to get hooked. The original Legend of Zelda is simply a simple adventure game thats fun. Figuring out the mazes and finding hidden paves makes this game truly and adventure.
A Classic That Stands The Test Of Time!! May 11, 2010 C. Davis (Kansas City) The Legend Of Zelda for NES is by far the best 80's game in my opinion.
It has great enemies and it has some challenge as well (depending on if your using a online walkthrough or any tip booklet).
For fans who have beat this game several times before will know that once you get this game down pat, it's very easy and fun to play.
A great start to a legendary game series!!
If you were a big fan of the earlier Zelda games, this one is totally for you!!
You can now purchase this game on Wii Download for a very generous price!!
(Another great Zelda game is Ocarina Of Time for N64 or Wii Download)
Respect the old school April 1, 2010 M (I wait behind the wall, gnawing away at your reality) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This honestly isn't a bad game for the game that kicked off the Legend of Zelda franchise. It may be simplistic compared to later games like Ocarina of Time or Twilight Princess, but even now, I still like playing it. There's not much I can say here that other reviewers haven't said. This is a rocking game, and if you're a Legend of Zelda fan, then you seriously need to try this game. It might be around 25 years old, but it's a solid classic with features seen even in today's newest LoZ games.
